The operation itself was a breeze which took only less than an hour and no more than 2 hours in total including preparation. The new kidneys functioned almost immediately for all 4 of us undergoing kidney transplant at the same time and date.
My creatinine fell by more than half the next day and back to normal of 105 on the 3rd day of the operation and we could eat almost anything we like. We stayed 6 days in ICU and thereafter had the option to continue to stay in the hospital or recuperate back in our own country.
I chose to return to Singapore because of our excellent, yet affordable, medical services available which is very vital for prolonging the life-span of the new kidney. All organ transplants in this hospital comes with a guarantee of a free 2nd transplant if the first transplanted organ failed to function.
According to the latest quotation from the hospital, the total
cost for a kidney transplant including the organ which is
free-of-charge, whole period of hospital accommodation for patient
and 1 related care-giver, surgery fees, medications, dialysis and
food in ICU stay only, ranged from USD50,000/- onwards depending on the condition of the patient’s health, HLA & PRA test results, blood grouping etc.
The charges includes our coordination fee but excluding travel, hotel
accommodation and miscellaneous expenses if necessary.
The cost for a liver transplant in China ranged from USD120,000/-
onwards.
Full payment for organ transplant and hospitalization in China ,
can be made upon registration at the hospital. For all other
products and services, payment can be made upon receipt of your
order.
If required, medical specialists, pre and post surgery tests, medicines and any other services such as transport and accommodation are all available in Singapore and can be quoted and coordinated before departing from your country.
If you have the means, please do not procrastinate any further or otherwise you will end up having to join the long waiting list for an organ transplant in your own country. Worst still, if you are older, you may never get one as priorities are usually given to the younger patients.
Please note that it is illegal to buy or sell or trade with organs in China and no hospital is allowed to charge for any organ use for transplant. |
